Established in 1987, Gibbston Valley were the first commercial wine producers in the Central Otago region and the winery earned an internationally acclaimed reputation for our Otago Pinot Noir and other thriving grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Pinot Blanc.
Gibbston Valley Wines are on top of the world after the 2000 Reserve Pinot Noir was named Champion Pinot Noir and winner of the Burgundy and Pinot Noir Trophy at the world's largest and most prestigious wine competition in London. It cannot get any better than this! To add icing to the cake both the Gibbston Valley 1999 and 2001 Reserve Pinot Noirs have also won gold medals at this influential show. The London International Wine Challenge attracts over 10,000 entries and with every wine judged twice is regarded as the toughest in the world at which to win medals. Gibbston Valley Wines' unprecedented success in the pinot class place them firmly in the top world echelon of Pinot Noir specialists.

Sourced from a premium Marlborough vineyard, the juice was given a long cool stainless steel ferment to capture the classic passion fruit and gooseberry aromas. Bright, fresh and exuberant, the 2009 Sauvignon Blanc has opulent tropical flavours and a welcoming summery charm. Very easy to love, and designed to be drunk in its youth.

This is a joyful, young, vibrant Pinot that delivers strong varietal flavours. Semi translucent mauve purple colour with mauve purple hue. Lifted nose, freshly macerated strawberry, spice and cherry showing very good varietal lift. Youthful palate flavours of spice and ripe strawberry over ripe juicy dark cherries. Soft and velvet smooth. Youthful and a delight for the short term.

A warm growing season in 2006 lead to full, early and even ripening throughout all Central Otago subregions. Earliest of all was the fruit from the lower altitude Bendigo sites, followed by the higher altitude sites, then Gibbston. Consistent to all though was a depth of dark fruit flavour and deep colour.
