Quick Overview

Light straw in colour with a bright clarity. Freshly scented gooseberry, grapefruit, nettle and floral notes on the nose. A medium-bodied wine, the palate has mineral nuances, with grapefruit zest and herbal notes. Finely balanced with a zesty acidity and a long clean finish.

The grapes were picked in the cool morning conditions. The juice was cold fermented in stainless steel to preserve the intense variatal flavours.

Serve lightly chilled this wine is particually well suited to seafood dishes, poultry or salads.

REVIEW - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"It is intensively aromatic on the nose displaying passionfruit, nectarine, feijoa and lemongrass characters, leading to a concentrated palate that is filled with delectable flavours. The wine delivers pristine fruit flavours and fine texture, wonderfully structured by refreshing acidity. At its best now to 2019." - 93 points

Additional Information

Bladen is located in Marlborough's Wairau Valley in the North Eastern corner of the South Island. The shallow, stony and fast-draining soils along the river terraces aid infertility, a condition which perfectly suits Sauvignon Blanc. Hot sunshine during the day and cold ocean breezes at night extend the ripening period in the grapes which leads to a balance of complex fruit and acidity.
