Overview

Light-straw with a green hue and a bright clarity. Lifted aromas of grapefruit and lemon zest, with subtle notes of stone fruit, mown grass and red capsicum. Layers of citrus and passionfruit on the palate with an underlying core of wet rock minerality. This wine has a fine texture, with a long refreshing finish.

The grapes were picked in the cool morning conditions. The juice was cold fermented in stainless steel to preserve the intense variatal flavours.

Serve lightly chilled this wine is particually well suited to seafood dishes, poultry or salads.

Description

Bladen is located in Marlborough's Wairau Valley in the North Eastern corner of the South Island. The shallow, stony and fast-draining soils along the river terraces aid infertility, a condition which perfectly suits Sauvignon Blanc. Hot sunshine during the day and cold ocean breezes at night extend the ripening period in the grapes which leads to a balance of complex fruit and acidity.
