  • Cantine San Marzano

The small village of San Marzano is situated in the centre of the Primitivo di Manduria DOC region of Italy. In 1962, 19 winemakers joined forces and founded Cantine San Marzano.

San Marzano has expanded in subsequent years and has become one of the most popular, well-known wineries in Puglia.

Grape varieties used in the production of San Marzano Wines include Sauvignon, Malvasia, Negroamaro, Chardonnay, Moscato, Verdeca and the region's own Primitivo grape.

The turning point in the history of Cantine San Marzano came in 1996 when San Marzano opened their own bottling plant. This took the winery on a new path.

Where they had previously produced wine used only for blending with wines from other areas of Italy and Europe, San Marzano could now produce and bottle wine under their own label.
