The McLaren Vale vineyards were established in 1838 and boast some vines over 100 years old which are still producing grapes today used in the region’s wine. This makes for truly superb wine, with unique tastes you simply won’t find in any other region.
The region’s climate is conducive to grape growing in its vineyards; the dry warm summers are countered by rain in winter and a soft transition into spring, avoiding any harsh weather extremes that may otherwise damage grape production.
Dowie Doole is one of the most prominent McLaren Vale wineries in the region, and we stock a wide range here at Hard to Find Wines. Our selection includes a range of both white and red McLaren Vale wine, including Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, as well as Shiraz which the region is particularly well known for.
