Opening with alluring bright, dark, red fruits, the nose is under laced with slatey minerals, Earl Grey spice and a subtle dusting of oak. The palate is generous with lovely fruit weight and tasty, balanced acidity. There’s a velvet structure to this wine which is aided by its ripe, layered tannins. This 2017 is very approachable and rewarding young yet complex enough to sit and wait out a handful of years in the cellar.

"Certified organic, the 2017 vintage (4.5*) is a blend of grapes hand-picked from four vineyards - Quarters, Churton, Yarrum and Fromm - in three districts. Matured for 14 - 16 months in French oak barriques (less than 10 per cent new), it is bright ruby, full-bodied and complex, with concentrated, ripe, youthful, savoury, slightly nutty flavours and a firmly structured finish. Best drinking 2021+."

"Fromm's entry level pinot noir and the only one sealed with screwcap rather than cork. Appealing cherry and violet aromas with bright berry and spice flavours. An attractive and accessible wine, with a supple texture and perfect balance of acidity and fruit sweetness. Perhaps a little simple but with good varietal identity." 11/3/2019
