Originally bottled and labelled for the Rothschild family with grapes sourced from the vineyards of Mouton, Clerc Milon and d'Armailhac.
After an hour in a decanter the Rothschild Collection Pauillac awakens from its slumber to reveal a nose of cassis, charred vanilla, black cherry and cedar. There's evidence of the ripeness this vintage possesses with a plump fruit-forward entry to the palate which is tapered by fine tannins and well balanced acidity. It's clearly Pauillac and true to the 'house style' yet it's accessible and attractive now and doesn't require a decade patiently waiting in the cellar. Decant for an hour and enjoy this Pauillac with a roast beef.
