The wine is well-balanced, with fresh notes of green pepper and asparagus complementing tropical aromas of grapefruit and gooseberry. The palate is richly textured and shows an attractive minerality and a well-rounded acidity.
Klipmuur Sauvignon Blanc is named after the Big water retention walls that dot the low-lying gullies and valleys of the Witteberg mountain range, in the Klein Karoo. These walls were built by Italian POW’s during the second World War to protect the delicate Karoo ecosystem against rain and flash floods.
"On a “Klipmuur” in the Karoo, on the 8th of October 2011, I asked my wife to marry me. That wall, and the valley that it guards, will forever hold a special place in my heart." - Andri Hanekom
