Vrede en Lust South African Wine
The foothills of the Simonsberg valley is the setting for Vrede en Lust, home to both the 2007 female winemaker of the year, Susan Erasmus, as well as the ladies in red who host the tastings at the vineyard. The vineyard itself dates back to 1688 and the Buys family who are the current owners are the 17th since the vineyard began. For Vrede en Lust wines, you have come to the right place.
Many of the wines including Simond, Marguerite and Sarah are named after the owners’ children, so Vrede en Lust is very much a family affair. With vines being grown on three vineyards, Vrede en Lust is able to produce a myriad of wines from the more traditional South African Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc, to the more unusual Vrede en Lust Mocholate Malbec.
Although a popular setting for weddings and events as well as being used as a film location, Vrede en Lust is still foremost a vineyard producing high quality boutique wines, which are available exclusively in the UK through Hard to Find Wines.
