Bucktrout's 40 Year Old Fine Jamaican Liberation Rum
May 9th 2025 marks the 80th Anniversary of the liberation of Guernsey at the end of WW2.
This fine Jamaican Rum was distilled sometime before 1945 and shipped in a large oak cask to Guernsey in 1947. The cask was stored and eventually bottled by Bucktrout & Co of Guernsey in 1985 on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of Liberation Day 9th May 1985 marking the liberation of Guernsey from German occupation, hence the 'V' for Victory adorning the label.
The cask gave up 550 750ml bottles at 95° proof, 54% ABV and this is bottle No 411.
Good fill level and label condition for an old bottling and it comes with the certificate of origin from Bucktrout's which is slightly creased and damp stained.
This well aged Rum is a true rarity having matured for over 40 years in the cask & on May 9th 2025 it will have spent 40 years in the bottle.
This bottle is from the collection of a private seller & is not eligible for a Vat receipt.
