Since Roman times Italy has been a hub for wine production in Europe. Nowadays there is a wide variety of wines from the country from Prosecco using Glera grapes and some fizz, to bold and weighty Amarone, Barolo and Chianti Classico. Many Italian wines also offer fantastic ageing potential.
