Blaauwklippen has long been recognised as a Stellenbosch estate where tradition and innovation intersect. In 1977, they introduced South Africa’s first Zinfandel vineyards, setting a precedent for pioneering viticulture. Three years later, their inaugural vintage reflected this bold vision, reinforcing their standing as the country’s first registered company. Today, they
remain one of only three South African producers keeping the Zinfandel story alive. To engage wine enthusiasts further, they created the Blaauwklippen Blending Competition in 1984, the first of its kind in South Africa.
