Casanova di Neri was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri, a 48-year-old wheat and seed merchant, determined to leave the city of Montevarchi, in the Arno valley south of Florence, to embark on a great adventure. For many years now passionate about wine, Giovanni Neri has a dream, to be able to produce a great Italian red wine. Although the renowned lands of Chianti Classico are just a few steps from where he grew up, it is the austerity of Sangiovese that grows in Montalcino and its unpredictability that fascinates him.
