Gibbston Valley Reserve Pinot Noir 2017
£120.00
750ml
13.5% - New Zealand
Bendigo subregion. Historically an icon Reserve style. Now a three-site blend of six barrels, looking for more refinement, with 33% new French oak. NZ$120/bottle v NZ$65-100 for their single-vineyard bottles. 150 cases made. Pale-mid ruby-purple. Some struck-match and rubber reduction. Clove oak, scented strawberry beneath. Spice and a touch of dried herb. Chocolate tones to juicy red cherry. Spicy, with grainy, firm tannins and an earthy tone. Long and needs time to assemble. (TJ) Tim Jackson MW
