Kooyong Clonale Chardonnay 2022 hails from vineyards just 12 kilometres from Victoria’s southern coast, planted on clay loam soils with vines averaging 25 years old. Whole-bunch fermented with wild yeasts, it matured for nine months in French oak barriques—only 7% new—with minimal malolactic fermentation (10%). This pale straw-gold wine offers a nuanced bouquet of buttery and nutty notes, subtle wet river stone minerality, and vibrant peach fruit. The palate is fresh and juicy, balanced by a precise lime acidity that adds clarity without harshness, reflecting expert craftsmanship and site expression.
