Warwick Estate Blue Lady Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Warwick Estate is perfectly situated for Cabernet Sauvignon. When Stan Ratcliffe and wife Norma first started making wine from the estate they realised the outstanding quality of Cabernet Sauvignon that the soil produced. The Blue Lady offers blackberries, creme de cassis with graphite and tobacco leaf on the nose. The palate has immense body with an opulent texture and a wealth of fruit.
J D Pretorius didn't make the 2017 Blue Lady Cabernet Sauvignon, but he had a crucial hand in blending it. Sourced from a warmer site close to Le Bonheur and the border with Paarl, it's a fine, floral, elegant red with the structure, freshness and focus that are typical of the best 2017s.
Concentrated nose of dried herbs and warm spices complimented with dark berries and cassis. Fine powdery tannins with signature varietal grip, yet still smooth and inviting. Long and lingering dark fruit flavours gives the wine length and a moreish freshness keeps you coming back for more.
