Zuccardi Finca Piedra Infinita 2015
Intense rich Malbec from Valle de Uco. Layers of black berry fruits interlaced with deep spices and liquorice.
The Finca line focuses on one specific vineyard. In this case, it’s Piedra Infinita and its young vines that surround the concrete and stone winery in Altamira. If you compare it with its peer Finca Canal Uco (neighbouring vineyards separated by only a few meters), at least in terms of soil, the limestone and stone here are practically on the surface of very shallow soils. The wine is all force on the palate, but it’s also pure red fruit and radiant in its depth. It’s tense, austere, and firm. Of all the samples from Altamira that we’ve tried this year, this wine is the closest to being a definition of the place. If you want to get to know Altamira, and you can afford it, start with this wine.
